Free Consultation
It all begins with requesting a free consultation. At our consultation, we will get to know each over and discuss your vision for your maternity session and allow us time to share some ideas with you. We will discuss potential session dates, time of day, clothing choices, props, who will be included (such as other children), preferred locations and print packages.
When scheduling a session date, we understand that every pregnancy is different, so the timing of your session will vary. In general it is recommended to schedule your maternity session between week 28 and week 34. We want you to be photographed showing off your big baby bump but we also want you to be comfortable throughout your session.
Session Locations
We can hold your session featuring an artistic studio approach inside your home, or we can travel to a local location of your choice. Some favorites include the beach at Sandy Point or a local sunflower field at sunrise/sunset. You could also consider one of the many gorgeous parks such as Great Falls or try a more dramatic backdrop using one of the National Monuments. Weather allowing, Mother Nature can provide some very nice backgrounds.
Your Session
Sessions generally last less than two hours, depending on different locations within the venue, whether there will be a clothing change and your pace.
In terms of props, "less is more". Simple and classic is often the best way to go for timeless images. However, some of our expectant mothers like to bring sonograms, signs "It's a Boy!", baby shoes and such.
Finishing and Prints
Each photograph will be color balanced and individually edited. Proofs will be posted to a Private Folder on myImagez.com for your review. I know you will be anxious, so we will have some Proofs posted within two days of your session that will be suitable for posting to social media. We will post the remaining Proofs within two weeks for your review. Once you have a made your selections, we will provide the package you selected at our consultation - whether it is a few prints for yourself and family or a full leather-bound Album. Our "Basic Collection" is included.
Pricing
The cost for your Maternity Session is $175 for two hours of photography, up to 25 individually edited and posted online for download, suitable for posting to social media. Once you have made your selections, we will provide you the print package you have selected. The "Basic Collection" is included.
